In our next session, as part of the birthday present from her children, Barbara wanted to clear clutter in her dining area. It’s part of her living room, across from where she sits much of the time. She was embarrassed by it. Good for her for having the courage to tackle it!

There was a bin with old magazines. Would anyone be interested in them? I doubted it. Recycling bound! There was a box of religious music CDs. I suggested a pastor to call. If his church wasn’t interested, perhaps he could suggest another parish. A desk chair? She had someone in mind, and it could fit into a neighbor’s vehicle. Some art supplies would stay in her apartment, though in another room, for the young children in her family to enjoy when visiting. The rest would be moved to their home. We would bring the small silk flowers arrangement to the building’s free table, along with some other items.

Barbara was surprised as we finished clearing the clutter in her little dining area. Where would we work next? That was to be determined. In the meantime, she was pleased with the session’s work. Happy birthday!
