I met Jeanne at a talk I presented to a group of retired educators, showing lots of “before” and “after” photos, and sharing my work process. Afterwards, she hired me on the spot to help in her condo – yay! We would start by clearing her crafts room clutter.
First up, I wanted to clear and remove the card table near the window. What a clutter collector! Since she enjoys sewing, we would place some of the bins and boxes across the room, near other sewing materials. We also would get to that area, but first, the table.
It also held some workout materials, which we placed next to the treadmill, though not on it. That would discourage using it! Exercise is good!
Once the table was cleared, we collapsed it. Instantly, the room felt bigger. Yay again!
Next, we focused on a set of shelves in the corner. We neatened it, placing two of the decorative boxes from the table. I added an Australian flag, also from the table. Why? It was to honor the memory of a much-loved friend of Jeanne’s, who had passed.
We turned around to the opposite corner, which held some sewing bins. We consolidated some materials, and made it less daunting to look at and to reach.
Where will we work next? That was to be determined, as Jeanne had more areas “calling out for attention.” For the moment, though, we had cleared the crafts room clutter.
