Amy saw a posting about a talk I would present at the town library. She wasn’t able to attend, but contacted me afterwards. Could I help in her house? Sure! As a first project, we would work in the dining room. We moved a couple of small furniture pieces around, then focused on clearing the dining room table clutter.

There were many supplements on the table, including in a fabric tote bag. A beautiful glass vase rested on its side. I suggested that she use it in the kitchen. Another vase, not as pretty, held some flowers there. Why not switch to the nicer one? Yes! A shelf we found, to be used above the furniture piece to the right of the windows, rested at the end of the table.

We placed the supplements in a nearby furniture piece. Amy carefully moved the vase to the kitchen island. We put the shelf, to be mounted, on the furniture piece, below where it will look nice and be useful, too.

With that, the dining room table clutter was cleared. Amy and her husband, and friends they would welcome into their home, would be able to use the table. Success!

What would be next? Amy showed me a closet that could use some attention. Okay! I assured her that it wasn’t as bad as she thought. Onward!
